History of MGWSP

In 2007 MGWSP was formed bringing together global engineering consultancy WSP and support and construction services company May Gurney.

Until 2007, we knew and admired each other’s work but never really considered what it might be like to work together. All that changed when the proposal for a joint venture was developed aiming to win the Northamptonshire County Council contract for the maintenance and development of their highways.

By bringing  together expertise from our complementary companies, we offer a wide ranging service that cannot be matched focusing on providing added value services to Local Government.

May Gurney

May Gurney is a support services company. We are committed to helping our clients in the public and regulated sectors deliver sustainable improvements to front-line services across the UK.

We make sure that the road, utility, rail and waterways networks and public buildings are well maintained and that household refuse is collected, managed and recycled. These essential maintenance services, which are based on long-term contracts, are the ones that are visible to local communities and make a very real difference to the quality of life. They keep the country running.

We believe that we can be the leading support services business in the UK, in our chosen sectors, by delivering these services in a way that’s smarter, more client-centred, more outcome focused and more efficient than anyone else.

Through developing deep, long-term collaborative relationships with our clients and local communities we’re able to design and deliver services that meet their needs.
