Rushden

The Depot once served as a Railway Goods Yard. However, in the 1960’s Northamptonshire County Council bought the entire property. Part of the existing building is listed and it also falls within the conservation area of Rushden Town Council.
Rushden Depot is now an operational Depot. Routine maintenance of the Highways, as well as Street Lighting operates from this depot to maintain the areas of East Northamptonshire and Corby.

Brixworth

Brixworth depot is the principal operational depot for the MGWSP maintenance contract. It acts as the operational base for Area 2 (Daventry and Kettering districts) and Area 3 (Northampton Borough). It is also the head office for the contract and houses administrative staff, Highway design teams, Street lighting (operational and administration) and Environmental maintenance.
The depot has been a highway depot since the 1950’s. Prior to this it is believed it was used by the ironstone industry around Brixworth as is evidenced by the steep embankment to the east of the site bordering the road.
